The University of Florida is researching a novel cure that may cause the herpes virus to become inactive in people who already carry the virus. The researchers, led by Dr David Bloom, are accepting donations.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus, HSV-1 and HSV-2. Because they are nearly identical, research into one virus helps research into the other. You can donate to the University of Florida's HSV-1 research here , and HSV-2 research here . You can read more about the research here .
